Caramel Nichijo

A Story full of bitter and sweet moments.

At Caramel Nichijo, we celebrate bitter-sweet everyday lives through illustrations, comics, watercolour paintings, and sculptures, bringing imagination and comfort to your life in every enchanting piece.

Caramel Nichijo is the name of my art studio. It is also the title of the story I am writing, which is about a tabby cat's daily life and adventure.

Illustrations

The work of Beatrix Potter and E.H. Shepard always inspires me. They illustrated the world of Peter Rabbit and Winnie-the-Pooh. As a child, they introduced an imaginative world to me, and I deeply associated with the emotions of those characters in the stories, even though the little me back then could not understand all those words and vocabulary. Their work not only influences my choice of medium. The depiction of events that happen to the characters is a door to a deeper understanding of emotions and life. That is what I keep on pursuing in my work.

Comics

The theme of my illustrations is around the characters' daily life and the challenges they are facing. We could discover the joy and heartbreaking moments we, humans, deeply shared and experienced. It is all about a tiny bit of silliness or an enormous challenge. Through the characters, colour, and storyline, we explore what makes us who we are today.

We are all from different backgrounds and have different stories. Sometimes feel lonely and confused about others' actions. Stories have the power to bring the reader into the world of the character's life, which might be a source of comfort, a way to understand the challenges others are facing, and to develop a heart of compassion. Let the world be more gentle and loving.
