Creative Process
When developing illustrations, I love creating gentle, imaginative worlds, where stories and emotions can come to life. My work is inspired by the small wonders of everyday life; from curious animals and cosy corners to the quiet magic of friendship and play.
I enjoy combining bright colours, expressive characters, and thoughtful details to bring warmth and storytelling into each illustration. I hope to bring imagination and joy to young readers and let adults enjoy the tenderness and comfort of life. Therefore, my inspiration references not only come from real-life photos, but also from various colour palette samples and different imaginative artworks. My personal observations and past experience are part of the creative process as well. It begins with sketches and rough ideas that grow into detailed scenes. After the monotone pencil sketch is finished, I transfer the sketch onto watercolour paper and start the colouring process. I usually finish the painting by adding texture and details with coloured pencils and ink.
For the 4-panel comics, I sketch out thumbnail-sized originals using pencils on paper. I usually experiment with multiple perspectives for different panels. When the initial sketch is confirmed, I scan it into the computer and complete it in colour with drawing software.
